UiTM Faculty of Music in collaboration with The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) are calling all composers without any age limit an opportunity to submit works not more than 7 minutes for our upcoming 4th Malaysian Composers Concert Series , 30 Nov-1 Dec 2013 at Pentas 2, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac). The concert is part of the UiTM Faculty of Music Composers Series to provide a platform for composers to get their works performed, express their voice in original new music ideas and to be heard in public. The project is initiated by composer/conductor Prof Madya Dr Tazul Tajuddin. The concert will be performed by the UiTM New Music Ensemble, gamelan ensemble and choir. The performance will be recorded live.
The submitted works can be in any style but must be suitable to a student ensemble level; must be in any notated form (readable music score) and it is within the available instruments below. The works include Malaysian ideas, influences or connections are encouraged.
Instrumentations: Violin I (4), violin II (4), viola (3), cello (3), doudblebass (2) (4.4.3.3.2) 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet in Bb, 1 french horn, 1 trumpet, 1 trombone, 1 tuba, 1 piano, 1 acoustic guitar and gamelan ensemble (7-10 players, bonang, saron penerus, saron barung, kempul, kenung, gambang, gong, gendang), choir SATB (3.3.3.3).
